Wisp

A Blog in Markdown

A blog of +page.md posts, each drawn inside a layout component, listed newest first and published as an Atom feed.

title: Hello, Markdown
date: 2026-10-01
layout: Post
description: The first post, written in Markdown.
---

This post is a Markdown file. Wisp builds it into a page at build time, so it costs nothing to serve.

## Code Is Highlighted

```rust
fn get(name: Option<String>) -> String {
    format!("Hello, {}!", name.unwrap_or("world".into()))
}
```

## Headings Get Ids

This section is `#headings-get-ids`, ready to link to.

title: A Second Post
date: 2026-10-05
layout: Post
description: Newer, so it comes first.
---

Its `date` is newer, so the list on the home page puts it first, and so does `/feed.xml`.

How It Works

Every post is a +page.md file, such as src/routes/blog/hello/+page.md. Wisp builds it into a page at build time. The front matter holds title, date and layout: Post.

layout: Post draws the post inside src/components/Post.wisp. That component takes title and date with {@props ...} and puts the Markdown where {@render children()} sits. Code fences come out highlighted, and headings get ids.

src/routes/+page.wisp lists the posts with {#each wisp::pages("blog") as p}. The newest date comes first. Each link goes through wisp::based(p.path), so it keeps the base path the app runs under.

The same posts are published as an Atom feed at /feed.xml. Try it in the preview: open a post, then the feed.

Type to search every docs page and heading.
